ANNUAL MEETING 2023

At Visit Dallas, I’ve worked on several event projects, including the Visit Dallas Annual Meeting. In 2023, my creative concept was the backdrop across the event in photo opportunities, presentations, signage, videos, table decor, programs, menus, and more. In the process, I used several programs to bring the visuals to life through movement. Working with an events team we established stage design, table design, and video presentation design.

WHISKEY AFFAIR

I've worked on all the design for this annual signature event. Design aspects included: Welcoming Signage, Vendor Signage, Bar Menus, BOGO lights, custom whiskey video, TM matchbox, programs, and all digital and print collateral. 2017 event was post-poned due to Hurricane Harvey so for 2018 we had a chance to have a photoshoot for the digital ads and social posts. We wanted to transform the event more into a sophisticated 1920s theme. I pieced together a lot of clips of the 1920s footage of films, commercials, and documentary videos to have a backdrop of the era surrounding the scene.

"The signature whiskey panels opened up the night with some exclusive whiskey education while live music by Doc Watkins entertained the crowd deep into the evening. Guests were treated to fantastic food pairings and hand crafted cocktails provided by Bosscat Kitchen, Helen in the Heights, Reserve 101, and Ramen Tatsu-Ya. Other highlights to round out the night include amazing photos taken at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation‘s photo booth and Feeding Texas raising over $2,000 in donations for Hurricane Harvey."

2016 Whiskey Affair was a work in progress at this point. We had a fairly new create and events teams and ads had gone out with the past creative. I had to keep with the overall branding but enhanced it to create the designs you see. Since then we had learned a lot but I'm still proud of my first solo designed event and I'm thrilled with seeing my progress as a designer.

Cook Like A Texan

This event started as a collection of bites from some of the best chefs in Texas. Inspired by the 2016 cover "Cook Like A Texan", this event was first hosted in Downtown Dallas and it had a picnic in the park theme. It was a little cold but the event turned out to be pretty delightful. The color scheme was created to compliment the cover of blue and orange. All designs were created by me and the Texas Monthly marketplace booth.

The second Cook Like A Texan was hosted in San Antonio at the Pearl Stable. It was changed to be more of an intimate sit down dinner. The designs went into a big revision to match the changes. I came up with a minimalistic design that provides a pop of color that encloses the logo and vector of the Stable, I created.

MEATUP

Hosted by the food editors of Texas Monthly, this event was a selection pitmasters and chefs choice meat variety. This was one of my favorite event theming and I had an opportunity to create the look and feel of the event. he signage was hand created by our creative team to be chalkboard based with a die-cut sticker, so that the chefs and pitmasters could write their menu which unfortunately didn't seem to happen. I came up with the interactives for the event and started the lighting option that most of the events at Silver Street Studio use now. We went with a backyard barbecue feel with grass, picnic tables, white picket fence, and backyard games.

BBQ FEST

BBQ Fest is an annual event put on by Texas Monthly. It includes the Top BBQ joints in Texas plus seminars and events during the whole weekend. Our creative team created the branding and with that I created several of the signs and collateral pieces including the welcome signs, bar menus, VIP signs, sponsor signs, and a few booth signs like the Texas Monthly booth. However, two pieces that were requested to be off brand I created with complimentary elements are the bandana and volunteer shirts.

Brisket Brunch was one of the weekend events put on at Juilet Italian Kitchen. I did the designs for the previous year so it was wonderful to do it again. I took the color scheme laid out by the creative team and created all the collateral pieces for Brisket Brunch including digital, welcome sign, contest sign, menus, and other elements. A fun detail we did for the weekend was hand sew the banners, so personally I sewed this particular banner as well as designed it.
